The best way to lose weight is a healthy combination of diet and exercise, but there are some other tips and tricks that can have you shedding pounds faster than you thought possible.

These hacks work best when paired with a healthy diet and regular exercise, but they are a bit less conventional and some people swear that they work to boost weight loss. Trying to take off an extra 10 pounds this month? Try a couple of these 15 weight loss hacks; you won't be sorry!

1. Work Out In The Morning

Rise and grind, people! Working out in the morning is a great way to start your day. Yes, that means setting your alarm an hour earlier than normal, but it will be totally worth it. If you squeeze in some cardio first thing in the a.m., you are setting the tone of your entire day. Not only will your mood be better, but you will kick-start your metabolism. Win/win.

2. Drink Water Before Meals

Before you put that fork in your mouth, drink at least one full glass of water (the preferred intake is 16oz before a meal). This will help fill your stomach which will make you feel full faster. This means that -- theoretically -- you will eat less.

3. You Bite It, You Write It

Start keeping a food journal or track your daily intake using an app. Some people say that tracking their intake actually shows them how much food they are ingesting and it turns them off, causing them to eat less.

4. Use A Smaller Plate

Fill a salad-size plate with your dinner. It will look like you're eating more food but your portion will naturally be smaller because of the smaller plate. Sometimes, it's about mind games.

5. Buy Blue Plates

Okay, this might seem a little strange, but people say it's legit. Research shows that people tend to eat less when there's a big contrast between the color of food on their plate and the color of said plate. Just don't eat cake with blue frosting.

6. Make It Spicy

Did you know that eating spicy foods can increase your metabolism? Studies show that a half-teaspoon of cayenne pepper mixed in food or taken orally can help burn more calories over a four-hour period.

7. No More Bread

Seriously. You've surely heard it before and we're here to remind you. Bread is nothing but bad filler and you shouldn't eat it if you want to lose weight.

8. Put Down The Fork and Eat Slow

Eating slowly is supposed to give your body enough time to let you know that you're full before you overeat everything on your plate. Many suggest putting your fork down after a couple of bites and sipping water frequently. Eating shouldn't be a race to clean your plate -- it should be a way for you to nourish your body.

9. Try Not To Stress

Stress is bad and stress can cause you to fall off track. Also, stress can cause you to eat more or less, depending on how your body handles things. You should try to stay calm as much as possible. Try mediating or yoga to re-center yourself if you're having a hard time with this one.

10. Ditch The Sweats

It's important to feel attractive and to not lounge around (or feel like you can) when you're serious about losing weight.

11. Drink Hot Water With Lemon

Drinking a glass of hot water with some lemon is believed to aid in digestion. It is suggested that people trying to lose weight consume a glass of hot water with lemon first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. It is good for you and it will help keep you full.

12. Don't Buy Junk Food

This means that you should never go food shopping while you're hungry. If you don't buy junk food, it won't be in your house and you won't be able to eat it. If you know that there's a bag of chips in the cabinet, you're probably going to have a few (or half the bag).

13. Give Up Soda

Nothing good came come from soda aside from a satisfying belch. The sugar isn't good for you and drinking any kind of soda -- even if it's diet -- is bad. Whether you are trying to lose weight or not, soda can cause a variety of health issues including diabetes.

14. Sleep

Research shows that getting a good night's sleep can aid in weight loss. If you can, try to sleep at least eight hours a night.

15. Park And Walk

Stop trying to get a parking spot close to the door of a store. Park far away and walk. The extra steps will burn calories while you're not even working out. It's a great way to get in a few extra steps.
