Windy City rock/soul singer-songwriter Todd Carey has wrapped work on his new set Watching Waiting due out on March 27 on Inspiration Factory Records (distributed by High Wire Music / Fontana). For the effort, Carey's second, he recruited acclaimed producer Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Matt Nathanson, Brooke Fraser), engineer/producer Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Rachael Yamagata) and mixer Brian Malouf (Pink, Natasha Bedingfield, O.A.R.).

From the party-hearty declaration of "Friday Night," to the explosive communication breakdown of "Back Off Baby," and the earnest insights of "King of Cliché," "Watching, Waiting" and "Smile," Watching Waiting speaks to the multi-hued whole of the human experience - demonstrating that real men emote.

"I’ve always gravitated towards the writers and performers who seem to possess that transcendent quality," says Todd. "The ones who literally reached off the stage or through your stereo speakers with their own two hands and shook you. Playing live and writing songs are just the tools I employ to hopefully achieve that goal of making a physical connection with my audience."

Glide Magazine predicts, "Although he'll likely be compared to radio-friendly male songwriters… Carey appears ready to make his name stand out on its own."

Carey will preview songs from Watching Waiting on February 1 at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles and in New York City (TBA). He'll celebrate the release in his hometown of Chicago before embarking on a U.S. tour. Dates to be announced soon.
