The phenomenon has continued to dominate the box-office - "The Social Network" captured the top spot for its second straight week, with $15.5 million in earnings at the weekend.
The movie, directed by David Fincher, stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake and chronicles the early days of the social networking website.
And it proved to be a hit again over Columbus Day weekend, as cinemagoers sent the film's two-week total soaring to $46 million.
Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel's new romantic comedy "Life As We Know It" followed at two, pulling in a haul of $14.6 million, while new horse racing film "Secretariat" trailed at three with $12.6 million.
Rounding out the top five are animated adventure "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole," which slipped from two to four this week with $7 million, and new horror film "My Soul to Take" following closely with $6.9 million.
