Surprisingly, Amy Winehouse was not fond of wearing black. As Naomi Parry, her stylist of five years, recently revealed to New York Times Magazine, she felt that it made her look ‘‘a bit like a witch.’’

For a tour last year — canceled after one performance in Belgrade, a month before Winehouse died in July — band members dressed in coral pink suits with sleek black shirts and velvet slippers. Parry designed a set of short, tight dresses for Winehouse in colors and prints inspired by the tour’s tropical theme with exclusive never before seen photos released to New York Times Magazine.

‘‘For gigs, she didn’t like a lot of fuss,’’ Parry says. ‘‘She just wanted to get on with it. It was about her songs and her music.’’
