'The Avengers' Earns Staggering $103 Million In Second Weekend At Box Office
"The Avengers" strikes again. The superhero flick made box office history again by earning over $100 million in its second weekend at the box office.
The action film anihliated records after making a massive $200.3 million in its first three days of release. It knocked down "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," which grossed $169 million when it hit theatres in July 2011.
In its second weekend, "The Avengers" continued to impress with earnings of $103.2 million. Marvel Studios delivers the ultimate comic-book film, which ties together such characters as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) for a big-screen franchise team-up like no other.
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's vampire horror comedy "Dark Shadows" made $28.8 million, followed by Tyler Perry's "Think Like a Man" ($6.3 million), The Hunger Games ($4.4 million) and "The Lucky One" ($4.1 million).
