He's one of our favorite action heroes on Strike Back - but now Philip Winchester is taking on a very different role, as he's landed a part in the independent feature film Undrafted.

Philip, who plays Michael Stonebridge in the Cinemax series, will appear as a baseball player in the flick, which is the directorial debut of actor Joe Mazzello (The Pacific, The Social Network).

Mazzello also penned the script, bringing to the screen the story of his brother, a successful college baseball player who - as the title implies - wasn't drafted into the major leagues. Suddenly, an intramural baseball game with an eclectic roster of teammates turns out to mean far more than he ever expected.

The cast of Undrafted also includes Aaron Tveit (Graceland) in the starring role, with Manny Montana (Graceland), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf), Matt Barr (Hatfields & McCoys), and James Belushi.

The producers are Mazzello for Parlay Pictures and Eric Fischer - himself a former pitcher for the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins organizations - and Brianna Johnson for Dead Fish Films. Undrafted is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

An all-new Strike Back airs tomorrow at 10 PM ET/PT on Cinemax.
