Honored as "Group of the Year" by the 2006 Covenant Awards and 2007 Shai Awards, Starfield continues to garner accolades, becoming today's most awarded Canadian Christian band. At the beginning of the month, they received a 2007 Juno nomination, the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy Award, for "Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year" for its current, acclaimed album, Beauty in the Broken. The album was also named "Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year" by both the 2006 Covenant Awards and 2007 Shai Awards, as well as received the 2006 Covenant Award for "Album of the Year."

The Juno nomination came after Starfield received three 2007 Shai awards (Canada's Christian Music People's Choice Awards). The band not only claimed "Group of the Year" and "Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year" honors, but received its fourth consecutive Shai for "Artist of the Year." The 2007 Shai Awards were held January 25 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (www.shaiawards.com).

Late last year, the band was similarly honored during the 28th Annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Canada Covenant Awards ceremony held October 27, 2006 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After opening the ceremony with a well-received performance of "Hand That Hsolds The World" from Beauty in the Broken, Starfield went on to claim four 2006 Covenant Awards. In addition to the awards already mentioned above, the band took home the trophy for "Song of the Year" for "Son of God" from Beauty in the Broken. The Covenant Awards are Canada's equivalent to the GMA Music Dove Awards.

Recipients of the Juno 2007 Awards will be announced during the awards ceremony broadcast live from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Sunday, April 1 on CTV.

"We are continually blessed and humbled by the amazing support base we have in Canada," says Jon Neufeld. "It is a huge honor to be nominated for a Juno award, especially when added to the recognition we've already received this year. Thanks to all the fans, friends, and family up North for believing in us."

Produced by GMA Award winning Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman) and GMA Award nominated Matt Bronleewe (Jars Of Clay, Michael W. Smith) Beauty in the Broken is the follow-up to Starfield's critically acclaimed, self-titled debut release in 2004. Released in May 2006, the album not only recognizes the vastness of God in His sovereignty, but also our ability to worship this God of the universe on a deep and personal level while echoing Starfield's skill in crafting passionate, authentic songs. Selling 32% ahead of their debut record, the album has further sparked unprecedented radio success for the band, impacting every major Christian radio chart (Rock, AC, CHR, INSPO) with three radio singles, "My Generation," "Son of God," and the current hit single climbing the charts, "Everything Is Beautiful."

Taking its hits on the road, Starfield performs 23 concerts before April 1 in theaters, churches, arenas and more. In April, Starfield frontman Tim Neufeld joins Mac Powell (Third Day), Shane & Shane, Brian Littrell (Backstreet Boys), David Nasser (author and speaker) and more for the Glory Revealed Tour. The tour is billed as a unique experience where all the artists are on stage at the same time, taking turns singing and sharing God's Word. Neufeld will rejoin with the rest of the band in May for a series of tour dates throughout the spring and summer.
