For over three decades almost anything having to do with the filming of a Star Wars movie has been kept tightly under wraps, but it now appears that the plot summary for the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII has leaked online.
According to website badassdigest.com, the basic plot details for the movie have been revealed, and as of yet Disney has neither confirmed or denied the details.
The website reports that the film takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and that Daisy Ridley and John Boyega will play the two main characters of Episode VII.
But that's not all.
According to the plot summary leak, Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) severed hand and lightsaber, which were separated from him in "The Empire Strikes Back" by Darth Vader, have been found by two characters (Ridley and Boyega) from an unnamed desert planet. The two know exactly what they've found and aim to return it to its rightful owner, who hasn't been seen for 30 years.
The two protagonists meet Han Solo and Chewbacca, who "aren't flying around in the Millennium Falcon anymore" but pilot another ship instead.
The quest begins to find Skywalker, and it is revealed that they're not the only ones interested in the Jedi Master.
A new group of bad guys has amassed on an ice planet to build a weapon capable of destroying a lot more than just a planet.
The film's storyline reportedly "mirrors" that of "A New Hope."
Badass Digest writer Devin Faraci kept the details of the film's plot "vague" so as not to spoil the film, but there are at least two key points that could prove his information is either completely or partly wrong, both having to do with the Millennium Falcon.
If Han Solo and Chewbacca are not "flying around" in the space cruiser anymore, someone must be because the ship has been confirmed by, among others, director J.J. Abrams to be in the film.
Back on June 4 the filmmaker tweeted a photo of the Dejarik chess table from the Falcon with a note reading, "I wish people would stop leaking photos from Episode VII. And making ridiculous claims that the Millennium Falcon is in the movie."
Eight days after Abrams posted his note, actor Harrison Ford (Solo) broke his leg on the set of the film. It was crushed when the door to the ship fell on his leg.
Website firstshowing.net also received inside information about the plot, claiming that Badass Digest's information is in line with what they've heard.
Oddly enough, one day after the alleged plot leak, Abrams took to YouTube with a new video that features a new-look X-Wing fighter from the movie. The director reiterates the current campaign where a lucky fan will be given the opportunity to be in the film by partnering with UNICEF.
