I totally agree with your argument that any minority character has to be somewhere near angelic.
There is a similar problem in gaming, where females are usually stylized by Japanese and American artists alike to be more attention-grabbing to the core base of gamers (males, 13-40).
So, a game was announced recently called Fat Princess. It's a multiplayer game where two teams try to rescue a princess in the opposite team's castle. However, there is also food strewn about the level, and you and your teammates can feed the princess to make her fatter - thus making it harder and slower to rescue her.
There was an uproar by online feminists looking for a few hits to their blogs - nevermind that the concept artist was a female herself - and it just made me believe that there is no way to keep these attention-mongers happy, and that they will continue to embarrass true feminists.

@Squints
I am quite familiar with Fat Princess and also agree with you that the bloggers making a huge deal out of it are just looking for a bit of publicity. I think female bloggers, especially when they're also gamers, should be working to make gaming culture more inclusive to women, because right now the majority of "hardcore gamers" tend to be straight males.
Thanks for the comments!

I do not watch any show or movie that has gay actors or portrays anyone in the show as gay. I believe that homosexuality is a sin and therefore refuse to watch anything related to it. There are so very nice people at thier that are homosexuals but that does not mean that they are right. I am offened by the foul languange, the sex and the homsexuality that has become so prevelant in movies and television. Believe it or not, my world, my frends, my coworker, nor my family or like anything that you see on TV. Hollywood moguls try to tell you that they are only copying the poplulation. Not true. They are perpatrating the evil.

Everybody's entitled to their opinion, ethelene. Even if they're wrong.

You have a valid point in saying that sometimes life is not like anything you see on tv. Though for many of us certain shows do contain something we can relate to which is why we watch them. I never watched Friday Night Lights for instance because I can't relate to any of the characters. It is your right to switch the channel when you don't agree with the content, but there is a distinct possibility that the shows you do watch have at least one gay person involved either in front of or behind the camera.

Personally,I have no problems with 'Gay Characters' on tv. In this day and age there are a lot more important things to worry about. If anyone is bothered about this, just switch over!
