what the heck did the press expect of james garner ?did they think he would jump out of his car and give a jig?he is slowly recovering from a stroke he needs to be respected in his fight back to being well ,and that means giving him space to go to hospital and keeping out of his face,he can recover but for goodness sake leave him and his family alone how would you like to have your picture taken when you are not at your best. god bless jim and his family here is to better health.love jessie from GLASGOW SCOTLAND U.K XX

Thank you Jessie. Jim has made a miraculous recovery from his stroke. As far as the cane he is "Clutching", he has used the cane since he had hip surgery while co-starring on "8 Simple Rules" back in 2004.
It was simply a follow up check up and nothing more. And why should he talk to the press? He's not obligated to answer any of their inane questions, when all they want is a sound bite. He has no slurring in his speech nor paralization. Let the man recover in peace.

I don't know if you even read these comments but I'll send you my best wishes for your speedy and continual recovery. I have had a crush on you since I was 11 years old. I think that you are wonderful actor, and from what I've read, a great human being. You are even a Democrat. I also have Cherokee heritage and my 1/4 part Cherokee grandmother came from Oklahoma too. I have seem most of your movies and television shows. My favorite movie of yours is Support Your Local Sheriff which I have seen at least 30 times. May you have many more happy, healthful years.
