I think Will Smith iz a great actor! And maybe he didn't get the award but he deserved it an a way!
Coz of how he portrayed the characters story in the film!
But i'm sure he'll hav a lot more opportunites in the future!
I'm sure he'll receive one some day!

Ha Ha Will Smith is a minimalist actor, Oscar won't come his way till he makes a great movie. And if he does get a powerful script I do not think he has it in his meager acting abilities to turn out a tremendous movie.

Will Smith deserves it just as much as anybody else, That movie had deep meaning towards anyone whom has the pride and motivation to excel in anything but most of all a father. Will Smith executed it best so he should have received it.

Im soooooo sick & tired of the Pinkett-Smiths.
Can any1 tell will 2 stop?simply cuz he portrayed Chris Gardener well doesnt mean he deserves an Oscar.He has to understand that this isnt his field!

Will Smith is a Big Budget Movie star... He may through some good lines together occasionally but with out the 100 million dollar movie permises..He's a average actor, he can't be compared to the likes of Washington,Crowe or Hanks that can sell low budget movies..

I love Will Smith, but it comes off as a bit disingenuous not to be happy for a fellow actor, and I've never really understood how they choose these winners sometimes.I agree about Denzel in American Gangster. But Forrest played Amin very well too. And I liked the character Will played in the movie"I Am Legend"too. Sci-fi movies seldom win awards no matter how good they are.Look at "Independence Day",another Will Smith role.

Now that is just being a sore loser. Is it just me or is Will Smith just so annoying now. I mean all his roles are the same dramatic thing. To earn an Oscar you need something original something real that connects with everyone, and I haven't felt that way with a Will Smith movie in a really long time. I believe the last one I really liked was Man in Black. I like Will Smith but lately it's just been like Tom cruise I guess he is trying to hard.
