i kno a bunch of teenage girls that are pregnant right now and they act all happy and excited like they're gonna marry their bf's and live happy ever after...i just look at them and think..dumb broads

Most of the teenagers experience these kind of problems. They should need a proper counseling with structured schooling to avoid further disturbances.

Unfortunately, it goes further than "communication". This has become a catch phrase for everything. Poor "Education" may be a better term for this stupidity, laxcitude and LACK OF DISCIPLINE. This is a countries' old issue and frankly, the courts should take over where the Church/Family/Educational systems have failed. Having a child is a human responsability, which has to be taken seriously and it's time that the State gets involved, because it affects all citizens. Therefore, if they are not ready, either take the children at birth or forcably terminate the pregnancies.

The thing that bothers me abuot "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" is that because it's on ABC Family, it's all about preaching and consequences. The average American teen doesn't get pregnant the first time they have sex, and they don't whine to their friends that "it wasn't fun and certainly not like what you see in the movies" (even if that's true). After all, if you're immature enough to think life is going to be like what you see in the movies, you shouldn't be having sex.

I think more people should be more concerned on this issue as well, too many young girl's think they are ready and old enough to make the decision to have sex and/or get pregnant but when the time come's for the baby they find they are Not ready, they get scared or ashamed and give the baby away, or even go as far as killing they're baby or just abandoning it, even having an abortion by an unprofessional causing they're own self danger, if not death. More parent's should be more worried of they're children and they're personal live's. Let them know it is NOT ok to have sex untill they are married, or at LEAST 20 year's old. A 20 year old can most likly care and provide for a baby, than any 13-19 year old's.
To those teen's who see this and think "I don't care what anyone think's, this is my body I do what I want. No one can tell me what to do". Look at what you just said, 'no one can tell me what to do', that is mostly a kid's saying, for when they are having a "tantrum".
Picture being out with your 5 yr old, around your friend's/peer's and that child throw's a tantrum right there, screaming, shouting at you, saying lie's.. whatever just to get attention, what can you do? You can't scream back, you can not whip them people will look at you like you are abusing them. You will feel embarassed, ashamed, alone, etc. Untill you HONESTLY understand how to know a child's way's and how to TRUELY deal with the problem, you are Not ready.

that's true u see it everywhere so many young teens are pregnant and they look as if everythings normal hello?they need a slap awakening it's not ok it's not cute u will be responsible for this child it's not all fun & games! SOME TEENS DON'T KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO AND KEEP THEIR LEGS CLOSED!
