I saw City Lights and disagree that it is the best romantic comedy of all time. To begin with, it is a silent movie. In it is an aging Charlie Chaplin circa 1931 (four years after talking films were first introduced) wooing a blind flower girl. He ultimately gets work and earns enough money to pay for an operation to save his beloved's sight. He worries that once she sees him for the first time the romance will be over. However, true love prevails! I would vote for any of the other main contenders over this piece of sentimental slop. Sorry . . . I also do not think Annie Hall was really romantic. Woody Allen was one of the co-stars, no? : - ) Where was An Affair to Remember on that list? I disagree that Raging Bull is the best sports film of all time. I would have voted for A League of Their Own. Also, where was Seabiscuit on the best sports film list? Horse racing is not given enough credit as the exciting, regal sport it is. I totally agree with The Godfather and Goodfellas rankings. They were spot on.
