I love how we'll just launch crap like this into space but we can't launch nuclear waste out there, where it would make more sense to put it. Then nuclear power could be running the whole country and we wouldn't have to pay out the @$$ for our electric bills.
Why not fill a rocket full of nuclear waste every so often and just shoot it into the sun. It's not gonna hurt the sun, since all it is is a giant nuclear reactor.
For every one smart Earthling (me) there are 5,999,999,999 idiots.

Guy, I hate to disagree, but NASA has tried to launch waste into space and they do it everytime NASA launches a satellite or some instrument(i. e. the Hubbell telescope). True, the sun is a giant - sized nuclear power station and its energy is the most wasted form we know, but I think Congress has mandated a moratorium regarding new nuclear plant projects over the past thirty odd years. Nuclear power is not the "silver bullet" that you wish it were. Also, Iron Man is not "crap" as you so callously state. It was a very well-conceived movie and I don't think the MPAA will even consider reprimanding NASA regarding
file - sharing of this movie. Furthermore, how would launching into space the nuclear waste created from spent uranium rods by nuclear plants reduce the cost of a kilowatt hour from said nuclear plant? I do not see the connection. Also, I am another smart earthling amongst the six billion you so derisively consider "idiots."
