Whatever Christy.
I have trouble trusting a review from someone who probably saw the first three films for the first time on the small screen and wasn't even a thought in her parents' minds when they were released.

I can't wait to see it, but I don't think it will be awesome. It will be good, but not great.

Here's my scenario... I work 9-6, just like everyone else, have plenty of stuff to do around the house, and have a one-year-old to sap a lot of daddy's energy every day. So last night I did the family thing; flipped back and forth between the Yankee game and the American Idol finale. After that I was yawning like crazy and pretty tired. Definitely ready for bed since it was that time. But I had my ticket for the midnight show sitting on the counter in the kitchen.
I flipped on the Wii to muster up a bit of energy and wake up a bit. At 11 I headed out to the theater, found a seat and played cellphone games for 40 minutes. The previews finished up around the time when I'd have been asleep for about an hour or so already. Pretty tired, but psyched.

I don't think I blinked once during the movie. I loved it.

"Spielberg fashioned part one, ''Raiders of the Lost Ark,'' as a fun and funny, rough-and-tumble homage to action-adventure pictures of the 1930s and '40s."---which is exactly what this one is. It's not "a mess" as the headline implies. It's an Indiana Jones film. It almost feels like "Raiders of the Lost Ark 2" in a sense. It seems to tie up the saga very nicely, gives us a nice visit back to 'old friends.' Granted, there are a couple of over-the-top scenes-- like ALL THREE of the other films had.
-
Shia LaBeouf is definitely my current favorite actor right now. I will see anything he's in now. He's already a great actor and he'll be even greater.

It was also pretty weird sitting in a theater five miles down the road from the train station they filmed it at. And ten minutes from Yale, where they filmed all the university scenes.

The movie was average at best.. to much seen it,dun it right down to the ending... The movie rarely felt genuine at all.. let alone like an Indy film. The movie played like an action film then an adventure film to fast to keep up from one CGI scene to the next. Don't get me wrong.. CGI is essential but not mandatory .. to much kills any feeling of authencity unlike the first three which actually felt and seemed to have been filmed on location rather then some blue screen backlot.
All and all the film felt like it was slapped together with quick tie ends to cover any lose ends the series may have had just to please the masses of fans let along new younger fans who where not even around when the first three were released.
Unfortunately Speilberg and Lucas SOLD OUT all authenticity from the orginals for a quick buck at the box office and toy stores..
Trully after nearly 20 years they could have done much better..

Ha Ha and an extra Ha Postmortem just plain dried up and a feeble movie like a dug up corpse from the past Indi flirts with youth and withers on the vine.

Lucas Production team must go to jail.. mexican music in Peru? people from the high mountains walking in the peruvian coast (just imagine a western with eskimos instead of sioux indians and you get the picture) confusion between Nazca and Cuzco in the map? (imagine a movie in Miami and when they show you the map it reads Texas). This is not a B-movie or a youtube home video. this is a 100 million dollars budget movie that will be watched by dozens of millions of persons in the world , in the movies and dvds.. its a real shame.. a 10 year school kid can do a better research job than the whole investigation team of Lucas Films. Any american tourist, young or old, that visited Peru can do it better. I wish Lucas or some high profile movie critic could read my mail. if you know their emails feel free to resend my message and thanks for reading.
