I had Hep-c and was treated with interferon and pegysis. I was on these meds for 9 months and have had no trace of the virus since. Did she not go through the treatment? A lot of the time the virus doesn't show up on tests or a very low viral load and it doesn't mean you are cured. You have to have a liver biopsy evert once in a while to see if you have liver damage.

She was diagnosed in 2002/2003. It still hasn't been 10-15 years since then. She will eventually die young from it. She may live longer than expected, but unfortunately it will eventually kill her.
