Sports movies are often beloved but rarely good. It's hard to say why it is so difficult to make a great sports movie. It could be that there is far more drama in actually following sports than there is in watching a dramatized version on film. Read more!

As a frequent watcher of sports movies, I have a few comments about this list.
I like "Brian's Song" and "The Natural." They're not the best movies ever, but they're great to watch. I will say that "Rudy" was kinda lame, and I realized it the more times I was forced to watch it. :P
"Hoosiers" is a great sports movie that everyone should watch. :)
I do agree that "White Men Can't Jump" and "Rocky III" are underrated. "Bend It Like Beckham," not so much...
And where's "Field of Dreams?" That's one of the more overrated sports films for sure. Sure, the concept is cool, and it was an OK movie, but not as a sports movie goes.
