'Jericho' Series Finale: Second Time The Charm?

JerichoWith "Jericho's" second (and likely final) cancellation announced late last week, this week's season finale has suddenly become a series finale. Thankfully for "Jericho" diehards (and CBS execs certainly know that they are out there), The Powers That Be foresaw this turn of events and filmed two endings for the episode - a cliffhanger and a conclusion.

How can they cancel this show? Who cannot be interested in it. It is fast moving and very topical. I hope that the powers to be can be swayed yet again to give us back our show. This is the first good series the CBS has had is a long time. I won't watch CBS if the show does not return.

My husband and I are both Jericho fans and really hate to see it go. As for the finale I wish they had taken it a little farther. This show could very well be prophecy of the future of the U.S.!

When you finally get a decent show to watch, it gets cancelled. If this show was a success last season then I don't understand why this show is getting cancelled again. It sure beats watching reality shows. They are ridiculous!

This is infuriating. They'll cancel a show that stimulates the mind, but then they'll air a show called "Don't Quit Your Day Job"? Way to go CBS. Once again, you've shown a true talent for airing mediocre programming.

I am glad that they anticipated enough to give us somewhat of a wrap-up ending.
But I am sadly disappointed that they canceled the show. The last 2 episodes I saw it getting very, very interesting and I truly believe it would have become a huge hit once the water coolers caught on. Instead of canceling it; why not replay it from the beginning...beats filling in blank spaces in programming with stupid reality (I use term loosely) shows. Know how many top shows almost didn't make it past the first season? Put a show on and stop messing with it's time slot and don't put a show on "vacation"...that would do a lot to keep your viewer's interest.

Why end it now? I do not know how they do the ratings, but check with all the people and not just a few. WE WANT JERICHO BACK NEXT SEASON! DANG, DO NOT END IT HERE! IF YOU WRITERS GET OUT IN THE REAL WORLD, INSTEAD OF IN PICKET LINES, YOU WOULD SEE THAT WE WANT MORE THAN 2 SEASONS OF JERICHO! NUMBER ONE SHOW AND JUST LET IT GO DOWN THE DRAIN!

Carol Barbee has confirmed that CBS Paramount is trying to sell Jericho to a different network. (CBS Televison Network showed/canceled Jericho, but CBS Paramount is the company that produces Jericho.)
There are already two interested networks - Sci Fi and The CW.
There is a list of things the fans are being asked to do:

This show has been galvanizing from the beginning. It would be quite a shame for the network to can it (again) with no conclusion in site. Particularly now that there seems to be some multinational intrigue comming to a conclusion. Remember, this show began with a small mid-western town wondering what it's fate would be afer an apparent end of the world type of event. Now that they have colored in all that, and gathered us all up to see what will happen, how can there be nothing left to happen now that there will be an apparent second american civil war..Jeeeze

This was one of the few shows on t.v. that held any interest for myself and just about every one I know. CBS is making a huge mistake in cancelling it, thinking that Lt. Cane walking sideways apparently in a mistaken hope it looks sexy, is going to keep people watching. I now have a fantasy that Dexter from HBO finds him. Jericho was about the only original program on and I truely hope another network picks it up.

First things first. Skeet did NOT have a mullet. Maybe you're thinking of Billy Ray Cyrus. Skeet is completely gorgeous in Jericho Season 2. Now, the finale was awesome. So much action and tying up of loose ends in approximately 45 minutes. Very well done. I loved the fact that Texas was so pertinent to the success of Jake and Hawkins' mission. And I love watching Skeet and Lennie James together. They have such intense energy between them. Overall, I absolutely loved Jericho Season 2. It was completely and utterly riveting.

they could at least shot 3 or 4 more series. the conclusion is too rush. I do love Jericho, it's the best series i've ever seen, better than Lost and 4400. Why they cancell everything that's the best -- will be the enigma for me forever.
