I like Mos Def as an actor. A shout should also go to Common and Andre Benjamin from Outkast.

I think that Andre 3000 is also a successful rapper turned movie/tv star. I know that he's not only considered rap but he's a great actor. His role in 4 brothers was solid. His character on the Shield was good too. He's an all around great guy and should definetly at least be given an honorable mention.

Mark, Queen Latifah and Will have had the highest success so far going from rapper to actor. There are def. others like Andre 3000 and Ludacris who are moving their way up more and more on that rapper to actor ladder. It's good to see the ones who take it seriously and make the transition easily. Nice article!

This whole article is a joke.
First of all, I didn't even KNOW that Mark Wahlberg was a rapper. I just lost any ounce of respect I had for him.
Secondly, I do like Will Smith as an actor, but not as a rapper...although that song "Switch" was rather catchy...
As for Queen Latifah...PLEASE. Give it a rest. I actually find her to be rather annoying in BOTH fields. -_-
Yeah, so this was basically a waste of time writing this up. Congratulations. -_-

now this goes to proove that hip hop isnt all about guns, beef and killing! somethings can be created for a good purpose but users would transform it for bad and other ways around, i personally think that being a gangsta rapper is due to a lake of education this guys probly never went to school, they're just sociaty rejects or brain damaged because they were dropped on their heads when they were babies, nothing too major talking about drugs coz we all know at some point in adolescence it happens to everyone to enjoy an path of weed but killings, calling women X@@##! thats revolting coz if women are X@@##! then your mums are surely one them and calling your black skin brother X@@##! its fine but if its a different colour skin man referring to you as a X@@##! you would get pissed off y! if its such a good thing! now beat that

I don't know how you came to your conclusion on the ranking of rappers turned successful actors but to give Ice Cube an honorable mention? WHAT THE HELL!? Granted Mark Walhberg is a good actor and made the transition to acting very well but he was a one hit wonder in the rap arena. Hell, even HE is ashamed of his 15 minutes of fame in that area. Granted I was not a huge fan of Ice Cube's music but he did manage to put out a few that I liked. He had a presence that made him stand out from the rest of NWA and the other West Coast rappers that came out at that time. So much so, that Hollywood saw it and gave him a chance and now he is one of the top grossing rappers turned actor in the business. To put him in the honorable mention category is anything but that. I also noticed a few names deserving on the honorable mention list that didn't make it: Common(Smoking Aces),Andre Benjamin(Four Brothers, Be Cool, Idlewile, Class of 3000) and Ludacris(Hustle and Flow, 2Fast 2Furious, and Law and Order). These are rappers that also have the potential to become well known actors if given the right vehicle to showcase their abilities. Only time will tell.

Long Live Muse you are right about Mark Walberg and Will Smith but its so disrespectful of you to diss the Queen how can she be nominated for the best actress for her role in chicago, she is one good rapper /actress,where have you been.Anyway everybody is entitled top their opinion even if it sucks cause its a free world but next you should try and keep your tsupid comments to yourself.
