Re Owen at the Oscars/"Drillbit Taylor" - Is Owen on Thorazine? He sounded WORSE than he did during his MySpace interview back in October. It was SERIOUSLY awkward. Where is the old Owen? There was none of the Owen charisma, none of the Owen "sparkle". After watching his demeanor and lack of inflection, I said to myself, "Has it been six months or six HOURS since his suicide attempt?" I can understand now why his people are keeping him under wraps. I don't see how he can promote his new COMEDY in that condition. And the audience response! "Big applause for the suicide guy? Normal amount? WE don't know ..." I ALMOST felt sorry for them, but not as sorry as I felt for Wilson, who MUST have been coerced by his publicist/agent to take the gig. Why can't this poor soul buy an island in the middle of nowhere and just relax until his meds get straightened out? He's obviously not ready to face the public yet; however, the new movie MIGHT do great (with the whole sympathy factor thing, you know...)
