The first thing to break the tension is a thin beam of light across the center of the screen. It is accompanied by a low, rat-at-tat rhythm that could be rain on a tin roof- if it weren't for the high-pitched shriek in the background.

Mr. Fagan,
I agree with you completely. It seems that comedians are left out in the cold. I think it is under appreciated, the amount of energy and, believe it or not, self-control,that go into creating a comic performance. Well, as the film says, "There Will be Blood". Great Article.
