Marc Anthony Chimes In On Hollywood's 'Bad Parenting'

Singer/actor Marc Anthony has blamed Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's recent legal troubles on a lack of decent parenting. The 38-year-old father-of-two believes the troubled young celebrities wouldn't behave so outrageously if they had been brought up to respect the law.

Being a police officer, I applaud Mr.Anthony for his comments. Although, I have seen bad kids from good parents. Marc Anthony continues to show style and grace in his personal life as he does while performing. In certain cases it is true that with a strong family foundation most children will carry their values into adulthood. I believe in the situations mentioned by Mr.Anthony, it is the fact that wealth and fame built on the backs of their parents which makes them think they are invincible.

I agree that bad kids can also come from good homes. These young women have been rich most of their lives, and seem to have led to believe that being rich makes them above the law.

society has been mesmorized by clelbs since the 20's and condoned bad behavior by continue praising them .those days are gone.
being rich and breaking the law just gets you an expensive lawyer and hopefully a judge that follows the law for everyone.

Hey.part of what Marc A. states is correct. BUT! It isn't totally the parent{s} fault if these kids act out the way they do. I've seen many parents do everything that they should be doing, and these "KIDS" are just oblivious to anything that someone in authority is trying to teach them about life, and they just blow them off thinking that they can do whatever they want to anyway because of who they are! Get a LIFE, GIRLS!

I totally agree. It may not be bad parenting as much as no parenting, their parents weren't there when they were growing up, they were too busy making the almighty dollar. then they would spend their almighty dollars too make up to their kids for them not being there for them It has everything to do with them being grown because you have to teach children from infancy how to grow up and become resposible adults and that means being there for them. You have to be involved in their lives

Despite what some of you commenters believe, parenting has a lot to do with it.
No they can't be blamed for everything, but if they fail to instil values and decency in their kids, or continually bail their kids out of trouble or make excuses for them or their behaviour, then yes, it totally IS the parents fault.
Bad kids do come from good parenting, I've seen it happen. And sometimes, somehow, good people come from lousy homes.
But frequently a person's behaviour is a reflection on the parents (especially when the parents party with or like their child, ahem, Dina Lohan).

What he says is true and we can add that there are situations where parents did try everything and it did not work. Not only celebrities, but non-celebrities too.
He is entitled to voice his opinion. When people say something they do not always think that it would be published in forums, like this, where he said it and all of a sudden his wife (JLo) is called a "HO".
