Rupert Everett Rules Out Adoption

Shrek 2 star Rupert Everett has ruled any chance of adoption - because he doesn't believe gay couples should father children. The openly-homosexual actor is adamant he will never succumb to the growing Hollywood trend of adopting kids, because he wouldn't want the child to grow up embarrassed by his or her two male parents.

I agree with him.
I know that there are children out there who need homes, and gay parents can be just as wonderful as straight parents, but he does have a point.

I have a cousin who has adopted two daughters with her "significant other." For some reason, I've never had a problem with them, but I totally see the point in a child growing up with parents of the same sex, and all the problems and discrimination and teasing that they might face because of it.

It's not the embarrassment factor that bothers me. Let's face it, most kids are ridiculed for something when they're growing up. That's life.

But can two moms really understand "Timmy" when he's going through puberty and confused about his feelings? Can two dads truly understand a preteen girl who makes the change into a woman? Having parents of both sexes makes it a lot easier in many ways.

Then again, there are plenty of single parents out there who do just fine.

I think it's more important to have two loving, caring parents than a mom and dad who are abusive, don't care, etc.

all the above has merit. but two males and two women don't have to do it alone..
they can solicit help from friends, bothers sisters , teachers etc.. a kid just wants and needs someone to talk to, support and guide thru the hurdles of growing up...
women can throw a mean baseball just like men can create the best designer clothes.
