I agree, its very upsetting for children when the two people they love most in the world go at each other all the time. when my parents became divorced I was 18 my mom and I did not talk for almost two years because she thought I betrayed her because I didn't disown my dad after their divorce, I know he wasnt faithful to her and they fought alot as I grew up, but he was still my father and I loved him as much as I love my mom I am now almost 40 years old and they are just now begining to be able to both be present at birthdays and holidays it made my life a living hell everytime I tried to plan birthday parties for my children and I would worry about if there would be a full blown out fight or if one of them would refuse to even show up I wish people would remember what matters most is their children and how they raise them will effect their lives forever my mom and I are very close now but we missed out on two years of our lives together. I am divorced now myself and I know and respect the love that my children have for their father and would never say bad things to him or about him in front of them my children deserve to have both of us in their lives and to have happy memories it was sad enough that our marriage didnt last but we get along with each other and even go places together. I wish more divorced parents would accept what happened and get over it and dont put their children in the middle of a tug-of-war. life is to short to hold grudges and be unhappy all the time.
