Buena Vista Social Club Singer Dies At 95

Buena Vista Social Club star Faustino Oramas has lost his battle with liver cancer in Cuba. He was 95. The singer's death was announced on Cuban state radio yesterday. Oramas, aka El Guayabero, was one of the last remaining members of the group of aged Cuban musicians, dubbed the Buena Vista Social Club.

Candela is one of my favorites on BVSC. I even included it on the mix disc from my wedding that I made for everyone with selections of the music I had playing at different times throughout.
Well, we couldn't expect them all to live forever, considering that when this came out almost ten years ago that they were all really really old. RIP Faustino Oramas!
