Hollywood star Kate Winslet and husband Sam Mendes have turned their backs on Britain for good - driven away by the country's intrusive media. The couple and their children Mia, six, and Joe, three, now live full-time in New York - and insist they have no plans to return.

I don't think NYC's that bad for paparazzi, no where near as bad as Hollywood... you always just hear about stuff in NYC, you hardly ever get pics, like the ones in LA with Britney shaking her umbrella at the 'razzi... plus, with all the traffic how would they ever get to chase the stars around?
I could be mistaken though.

I have a friend in the biz (I know - I'm really cool) and she says that people are more respectful in NYC, in terms of not hounding for autographs, pictures, etc. I didn't tell her it's probably more to do with people just afraid to make eye contact with anyone.

LMAO - I'm not sure what I would be qualified for "in the biz" - I did want to be a comedian when I was in the third grade....but I wanted to do an act with my pet monkey. I don't have a monkey...so I think i'm unqualified....that, and I'm more of a "groaner" funny, than a "funny-funny"....
