I have to almost laugh when I read articles such as this. These celebrities who put it out there that they are against this "slaughter", yet they have absolutly NO CLUE as to what they are talking about. The seal hunt is not crazy maniacs running around with bats, pounding the skulls of infant seal pups....it is seasoned harvesters (meaning fisherman, hunters with experience)hunting and yes killing mature harp seals to make money which in turn cares for their families and their homes. I also feel that these celebrities you choose to so profoundly support such causes as this need to realize that unless they are completly vegan they are performing cruelty towards animals.....every single time they order lobster, or chicken, or veal. Give up already, learn the facts, and move on!

I agree,,they do have no clue as to what they are talking about. Them in their multimillion dollar mansions. Ya the seals are so cute/ Arent pigs cute,,cows cute?? This is a way of life for these people,,their livelihood. Heather Mills didnt help when she went on Larry King,,if you ask me she looked like an X@@##!~~

If this was about baby rats instead of seals then there would be no discussion. I do believe, as a Canadian , that these protesters need to get ALL the facts before condeming the seal hunt. How about attacking the "rabbit" or "deer" or "moose" hunt, or fishing with a barbed hook......couldn't do that...no...that's considered sport !

talk about facts! the fishers bash the skulls of these baby seals (and yes, they are babies - some as young as 3 weeks old), and the commercial slaugher accounts for only ONE PERCENT of their annual income. And even if it were more - there is no excuse for it. EVER.
