He does realize that almost every film he's starred in for the last decade have pretty much been nothing but gratuitous violence, right?

That is too bad. I expected more from a Red Sox fan. I adore movies that features excessive violence. Some of my favorite films are dripping with blood and guts.

What a load of bs. Shut up, Matt. Better yet, shut up and go away. You're worthless. At least you used to have your looks, now you're just old and boring and annoying.

Maybe we should get out the "actuary tables" on Matt's career as he suggested we do with Sarah Palin. This guy is quickly going in the direction of his buddy Clooney when we turned political: DOWNWARD. At some point these Hollywood clowns are going to realize that "real" America doesn't subscribe to their political views. Maybe one day they will realize that the drop in their salaries and overall entertain dollars is in direct correlation to what they spew forth. Until then I boycott any movie or television show with a political agenda; hidden or otherwise. Elvis once said, "I'm just an entertainer. I'd rather keep my political views to myself." Mr. Damon et al. we suggest you do the same and stop abusing the spotlight which we have granted you. For it is "we" who CAN and HAVE taken it away.

No one cares...let me know when you make a movie with more violence in it, I'll watch. Bourne ID was the best thing that ever happened to you.

i think he's a typical hollywood hypocrite because he does violent movies then pretends they are a cut above. Plus, I think he's a mediocre actor.

Wow! This must be hate Matt Damon
week! All of you are spewing hatred of a man who has the guts
to say what he believes and you are sure doubling his comments with your rhetoric!
The Bourne Trilogy was fantastic and maybe he hasn't starred in many good movies because he doesn't care for the
mayhem that seems to be the bad
taste of a lot of people all over the world. The more violent the better is their creed and generation after generation follows suit. What is gutless about a human being
who would prefer peace to war and an end to violence? I am sure you have loads of hate toward my comment to spew forth. Go ahead and I hope you feel worse for it!

I think matt damon may be a good actor, but he is simpleminded and kind of stupid when it comes to anything outside of acting.

i love matt damon, but does he honestly think the bourne trilogy isnt violent?...excuse me, using gratuitous violence? i wonder if he thinks about all the people that think the way he fought and so could easily take down a number of guys (violently) is cool. if anything, turn down a movie bc its not that good, not bc of the violence in it bc he seems a bit hypocritical making that statement (and yes, ive heard him make it more than once over the years).

ipsofacto, have you not seen his movies? some of them are violent so i dont get what he's saying he wont do. i guess what he means is as long as he's a movie where he can beat the X@@##! out of someone for a reason...i guess that scene in good will hunting where he beat up a guy wasn't violent at all bc he wrote it.

ipsofacto - perhaps there are people who "hate" Matt Damon. I for one appreciate his work as an entertainer much like I appreciate the guy who does my lawn. But I'm not interested in either persons political viewpoints. And I cannot stand when an entertainer such as he, George Clooney, et al. inject their personal political opinions simply because they have a spotlight. I don't expect my "lawn guy" to launch into a diatribe of his beliefs while he's waiting on me to write the check and I don't want to hear it from Damon who is no more the expert on the topic than me. Bottom line is though I like his Bourne movies I now view everything he does through the liberal political lens he wants me to use and that lens goes against my core beliefs. Finally, his box office totals point out that he is indeed in the minority with his opinions. As the kids say today, "He better wake up and recognize."
