I agree with Bono. President Obama took charge of a country which was in economic chaos, ill-run and the then president who was a disgraced figure. I don't envy him the tasks that lay ahead but he has proven to be a remarkable man and has the
capabilities required to pull America up out of the abyss that was caused by total mismanagement. If only congress would get off its collective a__es and help instead of hindering his every
move!

I read that the nomination was made when Obama was 2 weeks into the presidency....2 weeks....common people ! I would like to know who else was nominated and what their accomplishments were .....I want to believe this has not been reduced to a popularity award.

If being a hater means wanting to know the qualifications and work of the others who were nominated......then I guess that's me. I figure two weeks in office and you've pretty well explored the White House and are busy setting up your schedules and your staff and figuring out how to tackle the problems at hand in the country. If that qualifies a person for the Nobel Peace Prize....then there are millions more who are trying to come to grip with the problems this economy has caused them and maintain a lifestyle above poverty....they too deserve a nomination.

Just another entertainer who because of the spotlight we've given them thinks he's some how smarter than we. Obama winning the Peace Prize only taints the original intent and further proves the sham that it is rendering it meaningless. In nine months Obama has only accomplished doubling our national debt, destroying our dollar, and destroying our reputation throughout the world, just to name a few. But that's okay because I'm sure Bono, Damon, Clooney, Moore (Demi and Michael) and the rest of the liberals in Hollywood will agree with Obama that they are making too much profit and will gladly had over more than half of their wages to support the rest of us. After all it was Demi who "pledged to support [her] president." Just wandering, will she continue her "pledge" of support if say Sarah Palin becomes president? But I digress. The HYPOCRISY is alive and well in the entertainment industry and in the White House. Fortunately we now have forums such as this to call them out and let them know we will no longer stand for it.

from what I've read on foreign press pages not only was the White House shocked at Obama's win but so was the majority of the Nobel committee. The majority who were not in favor of Obama.
It is sad that so many more deserving where denied for their efforts.
I figure if Obama can win a Nobel prize and Joy Behar can win and emmy...then this post should earn me a Pulitzer prize if spelling doesn't count.
