Comments on Why All the Megan Fox Hate?

Jake Gyllenhaal was already in Donnie Darko and The Good Girl before he was in Brokeback Mountain, both critically acclaimed indie films that were very popular. His performances particularly were celebrated. As for Jamie Foxx, seriously? He was nominated for a BET award for Any Given Sunday years before Ray, and also for Collateral and Ali. Jamie Foxx was also on In Living Color years ago and starred in his own sitcom for five years. So yes both of those actors were taken seriously and known in Hollywood long before their breakout roles.
The criticism toward Megan Fox is generally unkind, and probably on a large scale because of envy and/or too much connection to your own life. You can see her as that girl that rejected you or was mean to you in school.
However, the only criticism I'd have of Fox is not to bite the hand that feeds you. Her minor back and forth with Michael Bay wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't come off disrespectful on her part. Despite Bay being a jerk and what have you, he did bring her into the movie business and she owes him more than her scorn. If other directors think she'll make public comments about them, they'll be less inclined to work with her. So I'd suggest that in the beginning of her career, which is now, she'd learn to curb the honesty for a more polite veneer. And honestly everyone might like her better for it.

I so agree with you. I really Like Megan Fox shes orginal and honest. Shes, like you said just made some bad choices with her movies.
The thing about Dee doyle saing Jake Gyllenhaal was in donnie darko and the good girl is wrong because their critically aclaimed dosent mean anything because he hadnt been popular in the press until Broke back mountain which was when the press picked up more on him and started writting gossip about him.
I also agree with the sarcasm thing, sarcasm does not come of well on paper so of course her quotes look stupid because as soon as a actor uses sarcasm gossip sites and magazines can twist the words easily and turn it into something its not but when you see interviews with her she is actually very sweet and funny.
As for Saturday night live, that could be due to many things because for a fact personally SNL has not been god for years, also the script wasnt very good and they didnt give her much range and put her in very similar "hot" female characters which is SNL fault.
Personally i like her because shes not like most actors and actually seems very normal.

Thank you. How many Hollywood actors have been lauded with praise even though they have acted in less than stellar films (Jessica Alba comes to mind--and no one dares disrespect her). People don't seem to get that Fox is being funny most of the time. It's actually a pleasure to read all these people get angry in a 1950s kind of way: "How dare she say such things about Michael Bay!", "She oughta have some respect!", "This gal should be run outta town!"
Take Fox's line for example: “I have eight tattoos. All my boyfriends are required to have one and if they don’t have one yet, I make them get a tattoo of my name or my face." This is hilarious, and anyone who can't see that has Head-In-X@@##! syndrome. If and when she makes a quality film (and really, Hollywood, you make like 5 a year) is beside the point. Let her live her life, stop playa hatin' like middle school drug addicts, and go watch some Jon and Kate Plus 8; because you know you will.

I think it helps to know the girl. See her entries on wikipedia and imdb. One can see her more as a "person". Don't know the girl personally. However, I did think it was telling that several cast/crew of Transformers went so far as to write a formal letter addressing that they felt she was unprofessional and misstreated coworkers.
There are a million beautiful actresses, many who annoy because they think quite a bit of themselves...but they don't often inspire people to complain publicly like this.
In my experience, people overlook the exploits of actresses who are total brats so long as they act professionally and respectful to those they work with....and do their job WELL. This girl certainly seems to have a lot of bad press INSIDE the industry...which when you think about it, is not something that is common. Takes a LOT to make someone in the industry speak up...when brown nosing and getting along is so much more profitable.
I think there is something very wrong with this girl. Mental illness above and beyond typical actor craziness. My guess is that she will flash and burn out. OD or suicide within five years. Mark my words.

Thank you for doing a good job on being a real/mature human while writing this.
So many articles out there seem to be written from people who's social graces seem to be stuck in middle school.
Basing someone's worth on how much you (or your boyfriend)want to have sex with them does not tell us as much about that person as it does tell us about you (whether you like them or hate them for their attactiveness).
You brought up how other actors have misbehaved, and how easily that has been forgotten, but not so in Megan's case.
Did you to notice the examples you happened to use were male actors?
I can't help but notice that when a female is placed on a pedestal due to her sexual attractiveness, it is almost inevitable that she will be knocked off of there just to keep her down to size and prove that all of this sexual worth that has been placed on her is all of a sudden not "that" important.
It reminds me of schoolyard boys throwing rocks at girls they like.
Hollywood doesn't seem to care about male gossip nearly as much as it cares about female gossip.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm a young woman who actually admires Megan Fox as opposed to many other individuals who deem her unfairly. Give her a chance to be seen in a different light. Everyone in the Hollywood limelight has had opportunities to be seen in various ways. However, present Megan Fox with a well written script consisting of an in depth and serious matter and allow that deep rooted dimension of her acting abilities to shine through. Look, I'm not being rude or anything, but leave it to a man to defend megan fox. You do have some good points, but when someone is bad in all their roles, and not just movie roles but also tv shows, thats usually a sign. When all the acting you've ever done was with your body, your meant to be a stripper, not an actress.
Also, I just want to point out that Jake Gyllenhaal had a great career before Brokeback Mountain. Check out Donnie Darko for instance. It is a movie with its own fanbase, followers, and even has its own merchandise, which is way more than anyone can say about Brokeback Mountain.

Megan Fox is much much more than just her looks. People should stop giving her such a hard time for Jennifer's Body. She is good in it. I think alot of people don't actually understand how good she is in it & that it is a blatant p*** take out of the fact that everyone is obsessed about how sexy she is. She plays a character that is really quite vile (even before the whole demonic transformation) & still people are in complete ore of her and either want to be her best friend or sleep with her. She is funny in it & also delivers some touching scenes, e.g. when she is taken away in the van, when she is being sacrificed and especially when you see her applying make up before the prom scene. & regarding the whole buzz about her being dumb/uninteresting/arrogant etc in interviews is pure bull s***. I have seen most of her interviews and the only thing dumb/uninteresting about them is the questions she is asked! Always the same old crap; 'wow you are sooo beautiful/sexy' what is she suppose to say to that upon continuously being referred to as just eye candy. Then they move on to her tattoos, end of interview! In all I feel sorry for her, no one wants to take her seriously turning everything she says into a stupid innuendo or random headline,&then branding her arrogant when she is in fact being sarcastic. To me she comes across as someone who whilst the rest of the world will only take her looks seriously she definitely does not. Give her a chance to develop as an actress.

Really? people are hating this bad yet they are looking up her high school photos and comparing them to how much plastic surgery she has now, and thats why she's so pretty? lol I don't know Megan Fox and maybe she acts in ways that rub me the wrong way but fu2k it, I'm glad she's being real, or amuzing to herself...live life, who cares what people think..and haters are good, ladies if you don't have any haters than you're doing $hit wrong. Hollywood is dead. Megan Fox is just smart enough to have a tattoo of Marilyn Monroe. People are going to see the tattoo and associate Marilyn with Megan. It is psychology. She is riding on Marilyn's coattails as a sex goddess and no one seems to put two and two together. Also regardless of giving her chances in supposed future roles, she was still engineered to look like Angelina Jolie. Like Diana Dors, Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren were created to compete with Marilyn. It's ironic that Megan is a rip off with a tattoo of one who was ripped off inumerable times.

It is not megan fox's fault that she has been over exposed. The only thing she is guilty of is giving everyone the time of day. It is a completely unavoidable fact that if, say, for one day everything you said was repeated and aired globally that there is going to be some nonsense in there and that it is going to be taken out of context it happens all the time we just have the luxury of anonymity Megan does not have this. She has a few films under her belt, if you go back and look at all actors first work you will notice that it is not their best and that to get their break in hollywood shock horror they just might have only landed the job in the first place because of their looks. At least megan is under no illusions about the fact that in the past, and maybe now, it's her beauty that is winning her roles. But that is the nature of hollywood, 'all that glitters is not gold', Megan knows that and has expressed that she wants to learn and get better with each project. After all isn't it the same for everyone, we do not all start out brilliant at what we do, we learn so why can't people relate to that simple notion and allow it to happen. Stop obsessing over her & please stop trying to find fault with her just to make yourself feel better, it's petty & actually kind of cruel & some of things people say about her & how she is objectified is plain wrong.

nobody is saying that 'no one is smart enough to understand her' im simply saying that those who dismiss megan fox as dumb and talentless obviously don't. Don't misunderstand me im not blind to the fact that like everyone megan has her faults and doesnt always say the right thing and naturally she cannot please all the people all the time, what i do like about her though is that she isn't pretending to be something she's not, she says what she thinks & doesn't try to manipulate people by saying what she is 'suppose' to & being all contrite & false just to please people. & just because you can use sarcasm doesn't mean you can always recognise it when some one else is using it! Im not up her a*** i just don't like the way people hound on her all the time and seem to seek out & relish any kind of nasty information they can find or make up, literally researching her and finding pictures of her at school & saying how different she looks now, because of course people's looks changing as they grow up is ludicrous. i know that at 22 I look exactly same as when i was 14-15, that almost sounded like sarcasm but of course that cannot be as I cannot grasp such a sophisticated brand of humour like sarcasm... The Jennifer's Body movie was entertaining, with good acting.
Keep in mind, that sometimes horror-type movies are MADE FOR HORROR FANS, not crappy-crap like Scream or Jeepers Creepers or I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The horror genre is a totally different ballpark than your standard by-the-book teen flicks.
There were a lot of random one-liners that they could have done without, and I am thinking that that is what makes people not like it initially, but after seeing it the second time, the one-liners seemed to go over a lot smoother for me.
The movie is witty, and it doesn't follow the standard hollywood "code of conduct" for a typical movie.
Which is again probably why so many people found it disagreeable. Without the one-liners, it probably would have sat a little better with people.
There was also some unnecessary flying/hovering scenes.
Take, for instance, the movie Paranormal Activity. I went to the movies this weekend and it was sold out all across the board. The movie is nothing special, yet people are lining up to see it's glory!
Jennifer's Body is campy and doesn't take itself too seriously, and I find that to be a refreshing change, in light of all the crap that they put up on the Silver Screen nowadays.
Megan Fox does a damn good job of executing those almost cringe-worthy one-liners, so you have to give her credit for that.
Unless, of course, you're one of those people that blame the actors for the movie, and not the director, writer, or studio
