Nana17, because Hollywood has exhausted all original ideas. They keep rehashing old television shows for the big screen. Hollywood today is a graveyard of old television shows and uninspiring scripts. Though this is a sequel, they based this movie on an a classic screenplay. Furthermore, Dakota is not that great.

Actually, there was already a sequel...Like the cartoon version of Titanic, it is a little known movie. Return to Oz, 1985
