Sarah PalinNEW YORK (AP) — Sarah Palin would no doubt be horrified by the idea, but there's a chance she could become the same boon to David Letterman's career that Hugh Grant was to Jay Leno's.

Go Dave Go!Sarah Palin, is a palin in X@@##!.She is such a hypocrite ,and she can get the crowds roared up about Obama in a Racist conentation, and Mcain had to step in,and set crowds straight on campaign trail. She picks fights wants everybody to see her side only, and she is loosing.Just goes to show you looks and religion can take you so far,Then the real sarah Palin must take a good long look at herself.Go home and look after your special needs child. They need special attention.Oh but Sarah you knew that you used him as well as your Grandson"s daddy for leverage during the campaign. What really needs to be done, is for her to go home ,put her money where her big mouth is,and give the time to those who actually need her.I've worked with various special need people and Children, they deserve the time needed. So zip it Sarah, quit picking fights quit being a hypocrite, and give up ever being president .Go Dave ,Go.

Leno has to be loving this. Letterman gets a short bump in the ratings. Like Crazy Rosie/Trump provided for the View. But people get sick of guys trashing women and children real fast. Dave needs to find some new stich

The staff at TMZ are verbally trashing Letterman. But any media attention is good when you're reputation is on the line. Then again..I don't think Dave cares what Harvey thinks.

I find Burger King commercials absolutely discusting. Both the big headed royal ones and the square butt adds. According to advertising reps, kids who are too young to drive, the 14 ,15 and 16 year old love BK commercials. Same goes for Dave Letterman. There's a certain population that for some unknown reason think he's funny. Fortunately I fall into neither catagory. As some else posted previously. "Milk it for alls its worth Dave cuz you aint got much left".

The best offence is a good defense. So Letterman decides to attack a 14 year old kid. Good move. This is such a non-issue but CBS realizes that Dave's going to loose a lot of wind when the big boys come back to play. If Kimmel's show were on an hour earlier , none of us would care what Letterman says. Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, Spencer and Heidi and Dave Letterman..................none of whom are worthy of this much attention

Since he went on the air at NBC in the early 80's, I've been a huge Letterman fan. Attended tapings at both NBC and then again CBS, but no longer. That comment was one of a closet pedophile, and crossed all lines of decency and normal behavior. PERVERT was the right word, and somehow his lame excuse that he was referring to the older daughter...not the younger one frankly holds no credibility or relevance. He has full control over the content, accuracy and delivery of his material...and the statement was intentional, malicious towards thsi child as well as to ARod. How would Letterman react, if Palin implied that a famous male celebrity raped his son? And, somehow there is a difference? Not buying it, and not buying his worn out apologies for saying perverted, cross the line things. I will never watch his Show again, nor buy from those who sponsor him. He should be fired and permanently removed from public view. Besides, his show has really fallen in quality since he first went on the air....and he just sucks. Time for Letterman to say "Goodnight" immediately.

To CBS: FIRE Letterman today! He fired a bullet from a gun, that can't be recalled. He joked about the rape of a minor child on national TV...and there is no "I am sorry" big enough to erase it. Fire him, or confirm that CBS pampers and gives star treatment to pedophiles and perverts. And, trust me, I've been a Letterman fan for nearly 30 years... seen his shows live...and always thought he was great. But, this one crossed a line with us that can't be undone until after he is taken off the air. Does CBS & its Sponsors REALLY think we are stupid enough to not see thru this guy? THis has less to do with the mother of his target...and alot more to do with the lack of family values found in CBS programming. Fire Letterman, or we are done watching ANY CBS shows or buying from their sponsors for good. Fire Letterman Today! Jim Casey, San Antonio, TX

I am not a Palin fan, but I think Letterman's comments were in very poor taste. He should apologize and not do it again. A few laughs are not worth it.

I remember reading that in the "late nite "talk show wars between Dave and Jay. One drew larger Neilson numbers while the other drew the bigger paycheck. Can't remember who got what.
But according to inside staffers. Dave can't apologize. While his humor may be self-deprecating. Letterman is actually the biggest narcissist next to Oprah and Spencer Pratt. I believe Dave is a mega- ego-monster who would would rather loose an audience than apologize.

The accepted MOS for comedians like Rosie O'Donnell , Joy Behar , Sandra Bernhard and Letterman is to be intentionally offensive . When they are called out ____they use the excuse that they're comedians _____ there fore given carte blanche. Well somethimes they cross the line and NO MIA CULPA is going to absolve them. Dave had a chance to apologize and chose the "screw you "approach.

Lets see how that works for him. The loud obnoxious Behar has been given the chance to host a show on CNN (2 )but the early poll predictions DO NOT speak well of her chances.

Rosie had been declared insane. Bernhard had been un-invited to most charitable events that don't include Gay, Gladd or Lesbians in the venue. As for Letterman, people will either change channels or go to bed early. Most of us will just tune into Kimmel who is more revelent and hundred times funnier.

David Letterman directly apologized to Gov. Sarah Palin and her daughters on his program Monday night, saying he took responsibility for a joke that had offended Ms. Palin, her family and decent people everywhere.
The joke, in which Mr. Letterman seemingly confused Willow, who is 14 and attended a Yankee game with Gov. Palin that week, with Bristol, who is 18 and an unwed mother, had to do with the Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez impregnating .
While CBS clsims they lost no advertising revenues . Certain spokespersons claim they yanked their spots from the Late Show and Letterman's website due to the backlash. Now~~ was it the fact that Dave was a total a$$ or the money that brought about the change of heart??

In the past Lettermans had an arrogant snarky attitude toward guests for no reason. His comment about Palins 14 year daughter was not only misogynistic but totally uncalled for and NO I am not a republican. Apparently Letterman has so little talent he can't think of a new Palin joke so attacks her kid with that crass comment. I have to wonder if another poster here is on to something with that "closet pedophile" comment. Dave seems to have problems with women--his plain jane wife is truly repulsive.
