Letterman should retire. I have 3 girls and a boy. I think girls should be respected in every way. You teach that to kids but someone should teach it to old men like him. I hope that American people don't stand for Letterman and stop watching his show. Go Sarah Palin.. I vote for her this year and I would do it again. Women are as good as men and they are better then Letterman...

Dave Letterman's humor has just been more mean than funny for the past 10 years. Maybe its his old age OR maybe he has stayed in the game waaayy tooo long.
As for poltician's kids. They're off limits unless they do something out-landish and going to a baseball game is not outlandish.
Letterman went for the cheap shot to keep his name in media since NBC did the whole new line up thingy. Time for Dave to think about a new line of work.

I wouldn't look to sarah Palin for anything.Seems she looks at everybody else but herself.Her coming out and wanting to be vise Pres,while she had a newborn with Special needsand a prenant Teen,with her outspoken words on abstinace,just shows how selfish and egosentric she is.I wouldn't want her or her hipocricy to be running for any country.Her ego would have gotten the country in to big trouble in my opinion.She put her children in the line of fire,Dave letterman did not.

Letterman has had a lot of health problems in recent years Maybe his medications are causing him the inablilty to think like an adult. If its not his medication than he owes Palin a huge apology .
If he had made the same comment about an afro-american politician's daughter~~ we all know he wouldn't be on the air.

Rosie O'Donnell thought she was too big a comedienne to suffer any back lash from fans. Rosie was wrong. And Letterman might be in for a big crash soon.He's become fotter for other comedians.

Kimmel is so much more entertaining. The other network has made some changes and maybe it time for Dave to go. I realize He's trying to market himslef to a younger audience but it not working . I never watch him anymore and don't know anyone who does.

what if someone said something bad about his son?He'd be furious!What he said, was plain & clear,and deliberate.How he gets off by insulting, any ones child is beyond me.When I heard him,insult bill o'reilly-the guy who tries to bring childrens'protection, by helping to passlaws to prosecute pedophiliacs,and uncover bad judges in this country that let them go and helped pass 'jessicas law'- then stupid, brainless letterman, tries to find fault with him every time.this time he crossed the line, trying to 'cover' his tracks by un-funny jokes--nothings funny about him but his hairline. I didn't think this story was newsorthy because I haven't watched Letterman in years. I stay up late to watch Kimmel though.

From what I've read on the net, the man crossed the line. Since the show is taped before bradcast why didn't CBS censure his comments or throw in a commercial? The man is getting senile or something and the network should try to save his reputation. Like I said before. I never did watch Dave so my opinion doesn't count for much.

Ever since I watched her handing her poor baby around like a party favor to prove how "Pro-life" she was, how pure and better than most of us I thought there is nothing this woman won't do for attention. Okay, Letterman was wrong, children are off limits, but Palin needs to let it go, if you look at the show, Letterman NEVER said anything about rape or child abuse, it's not all about what Letterman said, she is seeking the GOP leadership, for now, and/or the upcoming presidency. Well, the tally here as I count it is:
9 people think Letterman was wrong and should apoligize,
6 people think he did nothing wrong, (and they also use the most hateful speech in saying so)
2 people are basically nuetral.
And I think Palin WOULD let it go, if Letterman stepped up and attoned for his hate speech.

Speaking only for myself, and I'm one of those 20 somethings.

Dave Letterman lost his appeal long befor anyone had heard of Sarah Palin. The man has just overstayed his welcome. This little insignificant indiscretion isn't going to attract any new viewwes. Picking on a 14 year old girl.

From what I're read. Dave is beginning to sound like that old guy who sits on his front porch and screams at kids to ""get off my lawn" . You know that old curmudgeon that Letterman used to talk about in his opening momologue way back when.

FINAL VOTE. Dave owes someone an apology.

If you don't like what Dave has to say than dont' watch Letterman. I stopped watching when I heard he uses a ""canned laugh track". Like those have stated above. I find Kimmel much more current.

I can almost guaruntee that Dave ain't going to take the high road and apologize ___________________he doesn't have that much class.

While I read all the previous post on this topic I'm had a deja vu moment. We all witnessed Rosie O'Donnell have a mental breakdown on national television. The reason we all got to watch this "" I'm so damn crazy that I can't stop myself moment" was because ABC and Barbara Walters loved the spike in ratings. We all tuned in to hear what crazy Rosie would say.
Same with CBS. They're going to let Letterman get as bazaar as the homeless wino on the corner . Reasoning?? Because the network doesn't care if it will boost their ratings. They could have curtailed the situation before Dave became a complete a$$. . A little too co-incidental now that NBC is re-dsigning their late nite line-up. Letterman will score a few points for a bit and than lose most new viewers for a younger orientated show.

The topic has to with Sarah Palins' fourteen year daughter. The 14 year old girl attended a baseball game and got to meet Alex Rodriquez.
Like yourself, Letterman made sexual innuendo comments about Rodriquez and a fourteen year old girl. It seems some people are offended by pedophilia. So the answer to your question is NO. This child has never been knocked-up

Letterman and CBS will get a bit of a boost in the ratings after this incident. Its like reality tv. But how many children can Letterman keep on attaacking? Dave has got to milk this for all its worth if he's going to compete with the other late night talk show hosts.
