I read both Chaz books because I am a huge CHER fan and I was curious, as I knew he was raised with love, direction and intelligence, tho Show Biz busy parents. Also, I do have a distant cousin who is gay but always much I do not know and thought this would offer an interesting and intelligent outlook.
I discovered intelligent writing and self-actualizing person within the 2 books (1)Family Outing and 2) The End of Innocence) and it has helped my depth of understanding and to more firmly believe the disposition of one's sexuality is nature or nurture or a combination of both and deserving acceptance and understanding.
I will do my best to find and keep a haven to appreciate gay and bi, and/or trans-gender in America as for EVERYONE of any race, religion or disposition, because I think many Countries sadly live in the Dark Ages in this area.
If someone wants to do this, I would support them in all their interests or pursuits as well as I know how.

I thought lesbianism was about women loving women. Now I am beginning to believe that in some cases it is about women who want to be men loving women. I have wondered why so many gay women look so manly, why they feel the need to immitate men in their appearance. This goes waaay beyond gay rights and even being gay. There is something really disturbing about this trend. I do not care what anyone else thinks. That's my opinion.

Seems strange for the President of GLADD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to state a sex change is the way for a lesbian to live her life "authentically". Is simply being what she is...a lesbian woman NOT authentic? I don't believe that. Surgery or not Chastity Bono was born a woman with no genetic/ hormonal anomaly thus SHE is a woman...surgery might change her anatomy but not her true sex. She shouldn't be ashamed of that and go through a huge invasive surgery to change who she really is. If she is truly happy and proud of her sexuality why change her body?

Think of it like this.
There are hormones and chemistry that cannot been seen, and many things organic in the brain and elsewhere in the human body that cannot be measured or even analyzed, still, even in this day of modern research.
Chaz has already decided he wants to do this so obviously he knows how he feels.
And he feels he should have been born a male WITH the parts thus...
Therefore, support in his carefully, thought-out decision; [he's contemplated for years]; would be appreciated.
