Jim Carrey Does Scrooge As Disney Previews New 'Carol'

CANNES, France (AP) - Jim Carrey has multiple personalities in his next movie. Carrey and director Robert Zemeckis brought a bit of holiday cheer to the Cannes Film Festival on Monday with a sneak peak of "Disney's A Christmas Carol," a new slant on the Charles Dickens classic

I'mglad that Jim Carey has accknowledged the fine acting of one of the greats, Alastair Sim, his Scrooge is a masterpiece of acting and I hope Carey will do justice to the role. Its one of the all time favourites and does need updating..Albert Finney, himself a fine actor did'nt come close to Sim..nor the TV. productions with Patrick Stewart or Kelsy Grammer...But George C. Scott give it a good shot and his is the second best performance of SCROOGE...Carey has a hard act to follow but he has the added help of the modern effects that Sim's film lacked...also must mention Michael Horden as Marley ..he was exellent..and the young George Cole...great film...bet Carey's Christmas Carol wont be around as long...who watches 'The Polar Express'..now... Real actors are the best on screen...and can you ever win an Acadamy Award for CGI versions of yourself....and if you want to see ANOTHER great Alastair Sim film then watch ..An Inspector Calls...just watched it again last night....Brilliant..tonyl.
