what a load of old cobblers, why would any selfrespecting black actor want to be a washed up old pale coloured male, not-so -super-spy...hasn't anybody got enough brains to invent a super Black spy for the new mellinium...Craig has all but taken the fun out of Bond...trying to be the other JB..Jason Bourne....what about Jack Black for a spy...or is there someone out there with that name allready...OK...what about ...Johnas Lord...now thats a good name for a spy...I'M going to copyright that name right now Johnas Lord..superspy..in....Blackfinger...coming soon to a cinema near you...tonyl.

If I were pulling in $40 million (or more) per movie, I'd say I would be the best Bond too! I think he would be very good in that character. Will Smith was very, very sexy in the movie "Bad Boys". He's very athletic and definitely good in action type adventure film and that's what Bond films are about - yep he would be my choice.

I thought that 007 was a white English guy. Since when was he black. A black agent is great, don't get me wrong. But be original guys and make it what it can be an original spy movie
with lots of action and yes, Will Smith would be good but I
imagine there are a lot of other actors who would really
fill that role to perfection. I think we have had our share of Secret
Agents for awhile, don't you?

Who is Will to judge who would be the best? I also think Bond is a British guy but don't see any reason why the next Bond cannot be a black British guy.

IF there HAS to be a black Bond I would choose Idris Elba, however, I think that Bond should be played as he was written....a white man. I just think the character should be kept true to the author's characterization. Seriously! What's next?? A white Kunta Kinte??
Besides, for me the one true Bond will always be Sean Connery.

I choose Idris Elba. He's tall & athletic even if his accent isn't quite upper cruse British as was the original Bonds.He projects confidence but not arrogance. He also has that tongue-in-cheek quality that's essential to the Bond persona. Will Smith has the money, and yes, the box office to buy the role, but I haven't gone to see anything he's been in since 'Bad Boys' and his relationship with Tom Cruise was revealed. Besides, I thought he was into playing original roles that he creates, not rehashing some well-played character such as Bond. Though Jamie and Diddy have proven their dramatic chops, neither have that 'je ne sais quoi' quality that's necessary to recreate such a well-known role. Idris Elba has both that elusive quality and the accent. I predict, he's going to go on to be a spectacular talent if just given the chance and the material.
