Write your own song, buddies. Better yet, ask Barry to write a new song for the campaign. It would probably take about ten minutes of his time and would be for a very worthy cause, I dislike re-cycled versions of famous songs. For example, I really thought Elton John should have come up with a completely new song to honor the death of Princess Diana. "Goodbye, English Rose" did her no justice. I am not alone in this.

There are so many beautiful songs from many artists. My advice, take an other good song from an other not so selfish and greedy artist,or better, make a new song. All rights from the song can go to Aids ad.

The Bee Gees have every right to not want thier music involved in something they feel doesn't fit.and THEY DO have publisher rights as they are the ones that wrote the songs in the first place. So Give Barry a break! if he chose not to have a song in the cause, that is his business just like it would be for any other musican out there in the world! and yes if they wanted him to do a song, than I am sure that he could have come up with one and unqiue. just as himself:-)

From what I've observed about Barry and his brother's group, they are some of the most endearing, kind hearted benevolent human beings on planet earth. Therefore, I believe this is an issue of protecting publishing rights as an example for all musicians and songwriters as their works gift all the rest of us with hours of pleasure and they should be paid in return. That's how we thank them and show them we love their work. That's their compliment. They have families to feed and living expenses just like all the rest of us. I just notice that new songs are crafted for special fundraisers. So, common sense and laws just tell you that a person has the right to judge how their work is going to be heard. Don't judge a person's character unless you know them.

Do not judge anybody you don't know. His song, his decision.Leave Barry alone. He is a great man. He gave a lot already to us, to everybody who wanted to understand his lyrics.
