parasite-an organism that lives off the body of its host. Apt and more frightening description of a baby would help to let teens know what a baby will do to their body. Also, this generation doesn't believe in abortion--usually a religious stance. Religion or morality should be inculcated before the kids slip between the sheets. The Pope was right in this instance.

Wait a second....Maury Povich starting a campaign to PREVENT teen and unplanned pregnancies? Does anybody see the hypocrisy here? More than half of his shows anymore REVOLVE AROUND teen & unplanned pregnancies (and the "who's your daddy" controversies)! He's just going to kill off his own show!

KissyKat, your friend is lucky her body is fine. Not all girls or even women endure pregnancy so well. Fear mongering, no. Statement of clinical fact. An ugly word, even though utterly correct, to describe what is to most a beautiful concept is what you find so horrible. Childbirth out of wedlock in this country carries no stigma and little fear of infant or maternal mortality. Early pregnancy can also cause sterility in the mother and learning disabilities in the child. Your friend may not regret the child, but who is paying for her decision? Who is helping to raise the child? She isn't doing it alone. Few, if any, teen mothers do. It falls to the grandparents and society at large to care for the children of teen pregnancies. Grandparents, who have already raised their children, and society, which has to pay more in welfare as another generation is delivered into poverty and ignorance.

The parents & schools are respon- sible for educating/informing their child. All schools should have a program where the students have computerized babydolls to take home for one month & exper ience the responsibility of parenthood. It might influence some to use condoms! and save lives from contacting other diseases. WASAWOO

^^KissyKat, whether you like the term "parasite" or not, repellent or not, it is correct. As it is also correct that the chances of a teen mother ending up on welfare are greater than those of a mother who is older. Historically, 50 percent of unwed teen mothers were on welfare within one year, 77 percent within five years. (http://www.welfareacademy.org/conf/papers/beshintr.shtml). Those are some pretty damning statistics regarding the burden that teenage pregnancy places on society. Again, your friend is lucky-not all teen mothers have that kind of support. And what happens when the baby isn't so cute any more and becomes the rebellious teenager? I've seen it happen and the kid gets dumped on someone else's doorstep.

Two words... Oh Please! If Maury did that, he'd lose about 95% of his shows... Stop the publicity grab, Maury, and just sit back and enjoy the cash... I'm surprised you don't own stock in a DNA company...

It's a very good idea but unfortunately, as demonstrated by a teen poster here, kids that age already believe they have all the answers and info they need and anything that differs from their comfort zone of "knowledge" is "fear-mongering"....and so, the kids keep having kids.

parasite-an organism living in, with, or on another organism in parasitism.
A human embryo is not considered viable, because it cannot survive outside the uterus.
I do practice what I preach.
