Best: Pretty Woman, Erin Brokovich, Steel Magnolias. Worst: Conspiracy Theory (weak performance and no chemistry with Mel Gibson), America's Sweethearts (she was a major star by then and only got a supporting role), My Best Friend's Wedding (the film made a lot of money but Julia losing out in love was not appealing) and Mary Riley (totally miscast). The Mexican was mediocre: two big stars with nowhere to go, but somewhat entertaining. She did that one for the paycheck. Her appearance in Ocean's Eleven(?) (whatever) was a complete throw-away but this was over all a good film thanks to the intriguing plot and chemistry between the all-star male cast.

@Dutch - I agree. She seems like a really good person, if not the most incredible actress ever.
@Lolav - I agree with pretty much everything you said! I liked her in Ocean's Eleven even if it was a brief role, but I wasn't as fond in Ocean's 12 when they had her pose ... as herself!
@jchdz - I would usually agree if thereafter she didn't end up playing the exact same role over and over. But there's no doubting it was an important film for her, the most important of her career!

I really liked the film Notting Hill. Julia and Hugh Grant made sweet music together. Conspiracy Theory was awful. I agree with the top three.

Julia Roberts is a good actress, but there are two movies that are missing from her Worst List. If I'm having trouble sleeping... I'll slide in the following into my DVD Player: "Runaway Bride" (1999), and Mona Lisa Smile (2003).

Pelican Brief, Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Run Away Bride, Sleeping With the Enemy, My Best Friend Wedding, Steele Magnolia, Erin B, and Mystic Pizza I have enjoyed over the years.
Disliked- Conspiracy Theory, Mary Riley and Mona Lisa Smile and the Ocean movie.

Did you miss "Mystic Pizza"? Kathryn Hepburn said that she knew Julia Roberts would be a star after her first movie. Two other great performances were in "The Pelican Brief" with Sam Shepard and Denzel Washington, and "Sleeping With the Enemy". Also I enjoyed "Notting Hill" very much. I think you left out the best of Julia Robert's work!

my favourite movies of Julia Roberts is ,,Steel magnolias''and ,,Mary Reilly'', although i haven't seen many movies with her. I think she is one of the best actresses in her generation and she looks nice.

Jewels has grown from a Cambell High School girl from Smyrna, GA (Not a small town, but metro Atlanta) to one of the best actors ever! She puts her heart in every part, if humor, drama, or just the girl next door, she put's out everything.
