Betty and Daniel are too far
apart in their interests and ethnic backgrounds to be a romantic couple. Close friends,
yes, because they respect and admire each other for who and
what they are, but never lovers
or man and wife. Betty isn't interested in the type of people in Daniel's world except
at work or his family. Daniel is the same. It would mean the end of the show, believe me, if
they married.

That's hogwash. I'd be scared death of filming a sex scene with America. That's a whole lotta woman to be rolling around in bed with. Body parts could get squashed.
