WatchmenI grew up in a comic book store, so most of my days after school were spent sitting in a beanbag chair reading graphic novels. It has been a fairly exciting few years for comic fans

Wow! Your review was "right on the money" (to quote the vernacular). My only disagreement is in the commonly accepted notion that "Watchmen" is sacred in any sense of the word. While I applaud Moore's vision of a more realistic world inhabited by less-than-super heroes, I cannot help but feel sorrowful for a picture of a society completely void of hope.A unique perspective for the time...yes.But is this perspective vivid, crude, distasteful and off putting...yes. As an avid lover of comic books for the past eighteen years, I can freely say with lack of any shame, that the idealized world of empowered heroes exhibiting the integrity and moral character far beyond any expectations we place upon ourselves, is exactly what attracts me to this underscored medium in the first place. How dare any author pervert the innocence so many of comic-dom!It is this heightened moral justice that inspires the fans, enabling them to believe in a universal understanding of what is good and what is evil. It is this universal understanding of moral justice that each one of us inherently believes in, but so few admittedly ascribe to. The reason is simple, 'This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light that it may be seen so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.
