Ballsy move by you and this "Steve" character. Pullman is an interesting guy, not necessarily because of this interview, but just the roles he's taken, and how he plays them.
No discussion of Malice? That was a twisty movie.
Also a little trivia, Independence Day was the first movie I saw solo in the theater. What a revelation it was to realize how much I could enjoy that experience.

@Sinbad: This "Steve" was quite the scoundrel. Our time was limited because he was on set. I would have loved to talk Malice.

@june-bug: I actually agree.

Great interview. I had forgotten he was in Lost Highway .. a wonderful example of modern film noir with a terrific cast (Robert Blake, Robert Loggia, Richard Pryor, Gary Busey). Worth watching again, for sure.. I'll definitely add that one to my NetFlix queue.

@rpa1973: "Lost Highway" is great and I had not thought about that film in awhile. I'm glad he brought it up.

Apparently he was in a film called "Alien Autopsy." You should have talked about that, LOL.

the interview wasn't short because he was on set. it was short because you asked him to "gimmie paw!" and he hung up.

@quin browne: You should see it. I saw it at a screening in January. Fantastic film.

Hopefully you can do a follow-up interview with him sometime. This was one of the interviews were I was left wanting more. I remember seeing Independence Day in the theatre when it came out --- absolutely fantastic movie (especially on the big screen)! Spaceballs is probably my second favorite Brooks movie, next to History of the World Part I. I will check out this next Phoebe flick, sounds interesting.

@Billy Chapel: Yeah, me too. I would have loved more time. I could hear the director in the background yelling for him because he was due back on set. Though, I am pretty happy for the time he did give me. It was very nice of him.

That was really good. He's always likable, but the interview shows he's an intelligent guy who's been deliberate in his career. Thanks Mike!

@grimoneus: Disagree. If you cut production costs in a film like this, all you are really saying is you're not going to spend as much on the cast. The cast *made* this movie. In other words: if this movie were on the hallmark channel ... this peice I wrote, and interview, would not exist.
