It does sound as if there were a little stereotypical thinking going on in both films. We should try to befriend Iran, not alienate it. BTW, I am not sticking around to feel the heat. Just expressing an opinion. That fact that I have an Iranian brother-in-law who is a fabulous person may be swaying my point of view. I love his Mom, brothers and sister as well. I have great respect for their culture.

I can only imagine what Iranians say about us. If any of you think England is really our ally, go there and listen to what they say about Americans on the news.

I hope the USA can find a way to improve its diplomatic relationship with Iran. We can have nuclear weapons but they can't. As for Iran's reaction to the two films mentioned in the article, I can see why it was offended. However, I can only imagine how Iranians portray America in their films. To the country formerly named Persia: It works both ways.

OMG. I'd bet there's a few turbans wound a bit too tightly if an actor's character's STAGE NAME is cause for mass sphincter tightening in Iran.
Please people, get over yourselves. Save your ire for more deserving issues, like why your country is wallowing in squalor when petrodollars from OUR country could easily support your populace! Or better yet, the practice of grooming young men for hatred and early death to further an agenda that is at odds with what Islam purports to stand for. Im sure there are everyday folks in Iran who are just as disgusted by this pathetic attention seeking type of behavior as I am. I never agreed with anything Bushwad did either. But THEY need to stand up and send a signal that they disagree with the "official" position. I know I have (heh heh)
