I'd rather watch The Scream Awards. Those are the movies I actually go to. Of all the movies up for Best Picture Slum Dog Millionare actually sounds the best. I always liked Dev Patel from Skins.

If I wanted to watch a bunch of douche bags congratulating themselves I'd watch a rap video. At least that's only 3 minutes instead of 3 hours.

I hope Slumdog doesn't win. What exactly about it makes it a good picture? There are thousands of movies exactly like it, especially in the Bollywood genre.

"cannot understand how a film about Indians, filmed in India by a British director could be nominated for Best Picture instead of Best Foreign Film"
-
Well, one small reason is the category is not "Best Foreign Film" it's actually "Best Foreign *Language* Film" and since the majority of "Slumdog Millionaire" is in English, it does not qualify for "Best Foreign *Language* Film." So there's that...

There are 2 reasons I wont watch
the Academy Awards. One is the
choice in some categories is
terrible and another is that Hugh
Jackman as host would be the only reason I would watch it. Most of the Presenters in recent years should learn how
to Present and if they are comedians be funny and if they are
not, don't even try. The dialog they have been given in the past is stale and not
worth repeating because whoever writes the dialog needs to take
a course to learn how to keep an audience interested in what is being said. Stale jokes, and
stiff acting Presenters is the
norm for the show in the past years.

I don't care about the behind-the-scene details. I am going to watch the Oscars and soak up all that glamour. Better yet, I may throw an Oscar party! With gorgeous Hugh Jackman as the host, that'll make the event even better.

I'm sure Will Ferrell and Jack Black/John C. Reilly will dress up in X-Men costumes with their guts out.

Lets just say that I DON'T care who is wearing what designer and how much her borrowed jewelry is worth.
The 8 hours of pre-show gets a bit much especially when you've been hearing the same tripe for the past 3 weeks.
I DON"T care to hear what a certain celebrity's political views points are. I've got my own thank you.
The only highlight for Oscar in past years worth surfing into during commercials is the memorials of those who have passed on.

The Oscars could be perfect if they would just open the show with Ben Stiller , Robert Downey jr and Jack Black doing what they do best. Followed by the memorials and closing credits.
