It is NOT a good idea to just stop taking antidepressants. There can be dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Hasn't Courtney confronted her inner demons enough? Are we not all sick of reading about these episodes? One needs to be in a stable emotional state to do an album or work with concentration and consistency on virtually any project.

Actually lolav....Many anti depressents rob those taking them on any emotion at all. And to make any album worth a crap there should be some emotion put into it. If Courtney wants to stop her meds its her body & I say good for her!

Anti Depressents will only temperarily seperate you from the pain. It is useless to just keep taking anti-depressants. You will only become independant.I am glad for her.

Guys, all I wrote is that abrupt cessation of many anti-depressant medications can result in very serious withdrawal symptoms. That is a statement of fact. A depressed person has poor concentration, low energy levels, and (frequently) thoughts of suicide. Many depressed people self-medicate with alcohol and illicit drugs. Courtney does not want to go down that road again. You guys have a problem with that? Take it elsewhere.

I suspet your "professional experience" might be as a client. Good for you.
I actually am a health care professional which is why some of what you say is just so......irrelevant.
Courtney love is an alcoholic and a drug addict along with whatever number of legal meds she takes. As I have already stated, abrupt ceassation of an antidepressant (not advisable for sure) is the least of this chick's worries.

for those who have read the article....it doesn't actually state she is stopping her meds "abruptly", just that she was stopping for a while. Since these are chemicals she actually gets from a Dr. she may be getting proper advice too.
There just seem to be those here who love to ASSume the worst.
To them I say....save the drama for your mama.
