I may be reflecting my age, but I've got to see the old black and white Alistair Sim version of "A Christmas Carol" to really get in the spirit! Also "Home Alone", are you serious?

"However, the movie is not as hilarious as one would peg a Tim Allen movie to be."
This sentence... it makes no sense

Aw I thought the Santa Clause sequels were cute... dumb, but so many holiday movies are dumb and emotional, and we just forgive them that because of the sentimentality of the season. but you're right that the others are unforgiveable

@Tom Sizemore: -1,000,000,000 points, not 10.
A Christmas Story is the greatest Christmas movie of all time.
However, I don't want to read this article as I will most likely find a lot more that I despise.

@MarkS: definitely on the Sim 'Carol'. Another classic.
And I gotta say that 'Home Alone' always gets me cracking up and is a fun one for the season.

alright.
Jim Carrey's Grinch = worst Christmas movie of all time.
Jingle All the Way is a very close second.
I enjoyed all three Santa Clause movies.
I also think It's a Wonderful Life is way overrated.
And @ that guy before, I personally like the Albert Finney Christmas Carol best.
Especially the song, "I Hate People"

My favorite is the Rankin/Bass "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town." No one beats the Winter Warlock.

Well, many of you may disagree with me, but I like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. & My favorite cartoon christmas movie is "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

AAARHG this is an outrage! I checked twice and you actually left out Elf starring Will Ferrell and James Caan, with a blond version of Zooey Deschanel ... she was adorable in this movie. IMO this FILM was one of the most significant developments in the last 10 years of Christmas comedy classics.

Loved your post!
One of my new favorite Christmas movies, “The Gift Wrapper”, I saw in a film festival this year and it was just posted on youtube for the holidays and thought you might like to check it out!
It’s only 8 minutes but it makes me feel great.
Enjoy!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation ??? Really ?? It's certainly funny, but a "Christmas" movie ??? Seriously ?? And two of these aren't even really "movies" at all - they're 'cartoons'. The very omission of "A Christmas Story" makes this 'list' pretty lame....and hard to take as any real reference or qualified opinion on the subject it claims to be on....
