Why do people think shes all that? She could not act her way out of a wet paper bag? I wonder how many takes she goes through just to get an OK scene?

She's all that - 3 Golden Globes, 2 Screen Actors Guild awards, 1 Oscar & 1 Emmy nomination, widespread accolades for A Mighty Heart and some for Changeling.
Takes depend on the actor's & director's preferences - not just whether they're blown or not. Famous 1-2 takers, Frank Sinatra & Clint Eastwood. Others like Stanley Kubrick up to and over 80 takes. Most directors are in between.
