Another celebrity who would benefit under McCain's tax plan because he is "rich", BUT chose to care more about our country's future than his money. Way to go John!

cubsfan7, I hate to burst your bubble, but Obama is loathe to free trade and immigration reform and REAL environmental change. I site several examples. Recently, the President had backed a proposal to reduce the tariffs imposed on imported sugar. The proposal also provided moneys for research and development of ethanol from sugar as well. The tariffs cause domestic sugar to be very expensive, which, in turn, makes it prohibitively expensive for domestic candy producers to maintain and keep candy production in this country, and has caused a mass exodus of domestic candy producers off shore. As for ethanol, sugar has an eight times energy output to energy input ratio compared to corn. Its biomass waste breaks down easier and faster than that from corn and it is not as hard on soil to grow as corn is. With this bill, we could emulate the Brazilian model of energy management with their utilization of sugar as the vehicle for the production of ethanol. Obama, along with his Mid - western senatorial colleagues, voted against this.
Also, there was a bipartisan immigration reform bill proposed by both Sen. Kennedy and Sen. McCain. This would address the situation of illegal immigration and the management of the Mexico - U. S. border and trade. Obama was urged to vote on this proposal. After this was defeated, Obama turned a deaf ear on immigration reform.
Vote Ron Paul '08.
