Don't even know who this guy is but, for what he wrote in a book I can't help but, think I want to kill him. If his statement is not a hate crime I don't know what is.If there is any person in the usa that could agree with his statement then it is media's fault for not getting Autism enough exposure to make it impossible for anyone to think like him.
I am torn between throwing up, having a migrane or killing him. I can't even think about what he wrote any longer or I will think more on how he should be killed. I am not a killer kind of a person but, what else can I think of knowing what I know about Autism and even if, he was joking, it's such a sick joke I don't want to hear another word about him unless it is that he is dead, dying, or worse then that, has a person close to him diagnosed with Autism that he truly cares about. I wish a lifetime of working for the sole purpose of giving money to help prevent and cure autism to this guy, either voluntarily or orderred by the courts instead of a public hanging which he truly deserves in my book. Anyone agree?

Ignorant man! My son with Autism is doing great in school! Very bright, happy and sweet child! I have 4 sons. So I guess, according to Mr. Leary, I have been a lazy parent to just my son with Autism. Hilarious! What a dumb X@@##!.

AS usual a person with limited acting ability tries to put his idiotic comments in a book so he can pay for his next hit. If anyone is stupid enough to buy this book other than to line their bird cages with it should be put in a row boat with this jackass and sent off to the Atlantic for a few months. Maybe then they will see what kind of total moronic idiot he is. BTW i do have a child with high functional autism (aspergers) and she is doing well in school but has social skills problems that makes going to school a complete nightmare. I would lveo to see hisreaction to this beautiful child when she comes home crying about the other students making fun of her and her total isolation she feels at school. I will never see anything he ever does again.

What Dennis Leary is saying represents an ignorance in society as a whole. Granted there are a lot of people out there who take advantage and exploit the system. There are though out there, a lot of hardworking families dealing with this disability. My son is 19 and ahigh functioning Autistic child. He has worked hard to get through High School and is planning to attend college. His father and I have fought on his behalf to give him that opportunity to succeed. If more people paid attention to their own lives instead of spouting off about things they don't fully understand, we would have more positive programs for everyone.

I think this sorry piece of crap we call Denis Leary should keep his mouth shut about things he has no clue. My brother is probably smarter than you, Denis cause he knows to keep his mouth shut. My parents are not lazy. I'm NOT lazy. My brother is caring and loving. he is just like a normal child he just can't express himself. GOD, yes GOD made some kids like this. And if youyr an athiest. I hope you burn with the devil, Denis. Because Jesus and God do not like it. So you probably just ruined your career by saying a few little words. I have worked with individuals with disabilities for over 23 years. I agree to some point on what Mr. Leary has stated. Many times doctors get on what we term, "Band Wagon". They come up with terms that explain everything- Autism is now one of those terms. However, Mr. Leary, Although I agree that not all the children have autism and many children these days are lazy, to call people stupid (autism or not), is misguided. Kids today are not like kids of past. parents are also not all to blame. Parents are tired.In order to survive they work 60 hours a week for needed technology.However, technology today has aloud fingers to be exercised and not brains. Why learn to spell when you have "Spell Check?" No more board games are needed or places to hang out with your friends when you have interactive X-Box. Children are lazy today because they have technology doing everything for them. Yet, as you age it is the children that know how to use the computers and the parents that must learn all the new things coming around. I can hardly keep up. So don't get upset at lazy or stupid. Get upset that we no longer need to use our brains because we have computers for that. And autism- this is real and people do have to deal with it. And this is a struggle every day of all the families lives. I believe he did not mean it as it was stated but,Mr. Leary, I often ask myself, "Who truly are the ones with the disability?" Comments without concideration...usually answers my question.

Many people in today society have it wrong. mr leary is not the only one. I have a 23 year old autistic brother & my family has faced alot ostricizm in in the past because of the way he is. Even my own grandfather has acused my dad of being a horrible parent because he never had to deal with someone like that as a parent but I can tell you that brother is not lazy, he loves help with anything my give him to do.My parents also raised 4 other kids myself included & have received numerous comments on how well behaved we were.If my parents were so lazy woul'nt have been able to homeschool us & my brother & sister would not be getting straght A's in college. Although more people are becoming more understanding of this desease there will always be some very ignorant peaple out there so we just need to pray for them that god will open ther eyes & help them to be more understanding.
