Shinedown has announced plans to join forces with Rob Zombie and Godsmack for the summer's most exciting hard rock multi-artist bill. The Jacksonville, Florida-based rock outfit is touring in support of their smash second album, "Us and Them," which features the current Top 5 rock radio hit, "I Dare You."

The triple-threat tour is slated to officially kick off on August 25th at Dallas' Smirnoff Music Center. From there, the trek will travel the U.S. through an October 1st date at Concord, California's Sleep Train Pavilion (see attached itinerary).

Road warriors to their very core, Shinedown is currently co-headlining the Equinox Tour alongside Trapt, Atlantic labelmates Mercy Fall and Halestorm, and Evans Blue. The itinerary continues this Wednesday, June 21st, at Chicago's House of Blues, and runs through a July 17th stop at Oshkosh, Wisconsin's Leach Amphitheater. In addition, Shinedown has slated performances at a variety of summer rock festivals and state fairs, including the Q102 Springfield Rock Fest on July 8th at Springfield, Missouri's Jordan Valley Park Amphitheatre.

"I Dare You" is shaping up as one of summer 2006's hottest rock tracks. The single is the band's sixth consecutive Top 5 hit at Rock radio, while also bulleting up the Top 10 at Alternative and continuing its climb up the CHR/Pop chart. The band recently performed the song live on a number of national television programs, including CBS's "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and DirecTV's "CD USA." In addition, "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry also chose to perform "I Dare You" on the hit Fox television show. The single's success follows the phenomenal triumph of "Save Me," the first single from "Us and Them," which topped the Alternative, Rock, and Active Rock ranking upon its release late last year.

"Leave a Whisper," Shinedown's RIAA platinum certified 2003 debut, instantly established the Florida foursome as a major force in modern rock 'n' roll. The album featured a quartet of Top 5 rock radio smashes: "Fly From The Inside," "45," "Simple Man," and "Burning Bright." On its way to RIAA platinum certification for sales exceeding 1 million, "Leave a Whisper" held the #1 spot on SoundScan's "Alternative New Artists" chart, while also reaching the Top 5 on Billboard's "Heatseekers" ranking of new and developing artists.

With the latest release, "Us and Them," Shinedown pushes their taut, muscular rock sound to its limits. Tracks like the anthemic "Heroes" and the heavy rocking "I Dare You" offer swelling hooks and potent melodies, fronted by Brent Smith's powerful vocals and provocative lyrical sensibility.
